Animals Serving at Home Not only have animals worked side-by-side with the military for centuries on the front-line they have also been acting as mascots, as well as aids, to help manage stress and the fallout of operational stress and related injuries. As a result, The Canadian Foundation for Animal Assisted Support Services invited Major-General Lew MacKenzie (Rtd) to become a patron of the foundation naming this national military fund in his honour. Living in the Present is a Gift! Animal Assisted Support Services alleviate and/or compensate for functional limitations, physical, emotional, and social challenges due to operational stress and related injuries. ____________________________________ |
